Executives & Board

CIHA boasts a staff of 80+ people - up from just 43 in early 2001.

We're a dynamic organization constantly growing and working hard to improve current programs and develop new and better ways to meet the community's housing needs.

EXECUTIVES
CIHA has been fortunate to attract a team of executives who aren't just good at their jobs... They're sincerely dedicated to the mission of our organization.

Carol Gore, President / CEO

Before joining Cook Inlet Housing Authority (CIHA), Carol was vice president of income producing real estate for Cook Inlet Region, Inc., where she managed a national and Alaska-based portfolio valued at more than $200 million.

As president and chief executive officer of CIHA, Gore's leadership has mapped a new strategic direction for the Authority to aggressively develop quality affordable housing and affordable housing programs throughout Alaska's Southcentral region.

Gore's leadership style, and not surprisingly CIHA's strategic plan, embody the values of partnering, shared services and leveraging every available affordable-housing dollar to ensure the long-term fiscal health of the organization and continue – for the long-term – to benefit those most in need.

Maria R. Tagliavento, Executive Vice President

The longest standing member of CIHA’s top management team, Maria came to Cook Inlet Housing Authority (CIHA) in September of 1997, bringing with her fifteen years financial management and administrative experience: six years of which she gained working in Native housing programs.

As Executive Vice President, Maria plays a key role in the research of new funding sources and in the development and implementation of new projects, products and services. As second in command, Maria is an integral part of CIHA’s management team and has been a driving force in forging a new strategic direction for the housing authority.

Jeff Judd, Vice President, Development

Jeff brings to Cook Inlet Housing Authority (CIHA) more than 20 years of experience in the Alaska housing and finance industries. For the last fifteen plus years, Jeff has concentrated on Alaska’s affordable housing issues.

As the former director of operations and asset management for CIHA, Jeff oversaw key CIHA programs, including the HOME Loan Program, senior and family rental housing operations, housing services, and housing development finance. In 2005, Jeff assumed his current role as vice president of development for CIHA. Jeff’s experience and expertise will assist CIHA in improving existing programs and developing new opportunities for affordable housing in the Cook Inlet region.

Marcie Sherer, Chief Financial Officer

Marcie’'s career demonstrates not only her exemplary management and accounting skills, but it reflects her commitment to helping people and having a positive impact on her community as well. From Bethel, Alaska, Marcie spent many years working in progressively responsible finance positions for the Lower Kuskokwim School District and the Association of Village Council Presidents.

As chief financial officer, Marcie is a key member of the CIHA management team. She is responsible for a staff of 14, as well as all financial functions of the housing authority. Marcie prepares and monitors a 29 million dollar budget and oversees cash management, risk management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, procurement and fixed assets.
