Applicants must complete an application and sign income verification paperwork. Housing Services will review the application and notify the applicant of the preliminary determination of eligibility. If eligible, the applicant will be placed on the appropriate housing or housing program waiting list(s).

There are varying eligibility requirements for CIHA's rental services programs. Please contact us for specific information.

Waiting Lists
Due to long waiting lists CIHA staff will contact you periodically (generally once every six months) to confirm your desire to remain on the waiting list. If your personal contact information changes (address and telephone number) you must notify our Housing Services Department staff at 907-793-3000 with updated contact information.

Federal regulations require certain preferences be given to applicants who qualify for certain special housing needs. Additionally, CIHA has established a number of preferences in an effort to serve those who are most in need of affordable housing. Applications on the waiting list are ranked according to total points earned in these preference categories.

While CIHA accepts applications for rental housing on an ongoing basis, the TBRA Program only accepts applications for its waiting list periodically. Please check with the TBRA program staff regarding the next open application period.
