Ideal Home 2006

Through the 2006 Ideal Home Housing Forum & Design Competition, Cook Inlet Housing Authority challenged design/build teams to create an adaptable, creative, affordable home. Using our experience building homes in Mountain View as our guide, CIHA established parameters for the project including a maximum budget and minimum square footage. Four teams participated in the final round of the competition, designing their vision for an affordable Ideal Home. The teams presented their ideas to an audience and a panel of judges on March 3, 2006.

Ideal Home 2006 winner mayer sattler-smith/Friends of H4H came out at the top of the heap winning $15,000 plus a contract to build their heavily glassed, flat-roofed, contemporary home. See the winning design by mayer sattler-smith / Friends of H4H. (988kb PDF)
