Family Rental Services

Cook Inlet Housing has programs to assist individuals and families reduce their monthly housing cost as well as assisting with rental readiness, understanding tenant responsibilities and even preparing and planning for the path to homeownership.

Rental Assistance

The Rental Assistance Program is designed to help reduce monthly housing costs to an affordable level (30% of the household income). The program is available to families earning 60% or less of area median income and includes several different types of vouchers including: those for families, elderly persons (62+) and persons needing temporary or transitional housing assistance due to medical reasons. Family Self Sufficiency

The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program helps set goals for managing money.  The counseling component of FSS helps prepare individuals for a rental agreement and future homeownership. Counseling opportunities include, managing money, building assets, repairing credit, and learning about basic responsibilities.
