Senior Services

Cook Inlet Housing Authority (CIHA) is committed to improving residents’ quality of life through promotion of independence and self-sufficiency. Our Resident Services Program includes a variety of activities, events and amenities designed to recognize, entertain, educate and empower our rental housing residents

Lunch Program

The Salvation Army Older Alaskan’s Program serves a hot lunch in the Salamatof Heights dining room Monday through Friday. All Centennial Village residents are welcome to attend.

Daily Transportation

Free transportation is offered to the weekday lunch service, local retailers and special events to all residents.

Activities

In addition to the weekly outings, a variety of activities are featured including guest speakers, activity clubs, holiday celebrations, summer luaus and many volunteer opportunities

Mobile Food Pantry

The Food Bank of Alaska partners with CIHA Resident Services to make various perishable foods available to residents and community members alike through a monthly Mobile Food Pantry. Residents take an active role by volunteering and providing workforce for these activities, benefiting both their neighbors and the community at large.

Computer Labs

Computer labs offer residents access to computer stations free of charge. Residents are able to email distant family and friends, address online banking needs and pay utility bills–all from the comfort of the three separate labs located within the Centennial Village Community.

Libraries

The Centennial Village Libraries offer residents access to hundreds of book titles donated by various community members and businesses. The Video & Audio Library, located at Salamatof Heights, offers residents access to hundreds of audio books, videos and DVDs

Through coordinated resident volunteer efforts, a mobile service is offered, bringing a collection of books, videos and DVDs from the library site to each building for residents to peruse and choose from.

Be sure to check the bi-monthly newsletter and the bulletin boards often for updates to these services.

Services Coordinator

CIHA provides a Resident Services Coordinator that is available to meet with you personally to discuss your individual needs and provide referrals to assist you. Please call 338-2314 for more information.
