If so, we want you on our finance team at Cook Inlet Housing Authority! We’re searching for a Property Bookkeeper to help keep our financial operations running smoothly across multiple properties.

We’re Cook Inlet Housing Authority – we develop, own, and operate a portfolio of affordable rental housing in the Cook Inlet region of southcentral Alaska. We are leaders in community development and advocacy work around affordable housing. We are the Tribally Designated Housing Entity for Cook Inlet Region Inc. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Master of the Ledger – Reconcile accounts, create journal entries (including recurring and adjusting), and ensure everything stays balanced across multiple properties.
- Bank Whisperer – Handle cash receipts, bank reconciliations, transfers, and loan payments while making sure financial records are spotless.
- Audit Ally – Prepare for audits, respond to compliance requests, and update balance sheet schedules to ensure accuracy.
- Process Pro – Assist in maintaining and updating financial procedures so our workflow stays efficient and on-point.
- Data Dynamo – Perform key data entry tasks, assist in month-end and year-end activities, and ensure financial reporting is rock-solid.
What We’re Looking For:
Think you’ve got what it takes? Here’s what we’re after:
- Bookkeeping Pro – You’ve mastered the fundamentals of general bookkeeping, ensuring financial records are accurate, organized, and up to date.
- Deadline-Driven & Organized – Juggling multiple properties and tasks? No problem! You can handle shifting priorities while keeping everything on track.
- Tech-savvy! Experience with MS Office (especially Excel and Word) is a must; familiarity with MRI Software and automated accounting systems is a big plus.
- Communication Superstar – You can clearly explain financial details, collaborate with colleagues, and work across departments with ease.
- A 10-Key Wizard – Speed and accuracy matter, and you can type 40 WPM while working that 10-key like a pro.
The Basics:
- Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
Or:
- Experience: 2+ years in accounting or bookkeeping, especially in property management? Even better!
