Description
General Functions
Under the supervision of the Senior IT Manager, responsible for the daily operation of computer servers and systems within the company’s networks. Responsible for maintaining, managing, and repairing a system's servers and helps in the design and analysis of cloud-based models and new systems. Assists the infrastructure team with making decisions regarding hardware or software purchases. Keeps systems operating efficiently by performing any necessary upgrades, patches and repairs. Provides recommendations regarding server and system technology.
System Administration: Manage and maintain company servers, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Ensure systems are operational, reliable, and secure.
Network Management: Oversee network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls. Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to ensure optimal connectivity.
Security Management: Implement and enforce security protocols to protect company data and IT assets. Conduct regular security audits and respond to security breaches or vulnerabilities.
System Upgrades and Maintenance: Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and repairs. Ensure that all systems are up-to-date and functioning efficiently.
Technical Support: Provide technical support to end-users for hardware and software issues. Troubleshoot problems and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
Backup and Recovery: Manage and monitor backup systems to ensure data integrity and availability. Develop and test disaster recovery plans to protect against data loss.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of system configurations, changes, and incidents. Document IT procedures and create user guides for reference.
Collaboration: Work with other IT team members and departments to support IT projects and initiatives. Assist with the implementation of new technologies and systems.
Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware, software, and support services. Evaluate and recommend technology solutions as needed.

- Ability to develop and implement new approaches, methods, procedures, and enhancements to improve network and system performance and achieve optimal performance standards.
- Demonstrated experience in making decisions, taking action, meeting deadlines, and working independently.
- Knowledge of network technology, security guidelines, industry standards and best practices.
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems by methodically working through issues, determining causes of operating errors, and devising effective solutions.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to successfully communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.

- Microsoft Environment: Windows Server, Windows 10/11, MS Exchange, Active Directory, MS Office, Microsoft M365, Intune, SharePoint, MS SQL Server 2012-2022
- LAN/WAN/WLAN hardware devices, including FortiNet firewalls, FortiNet Switches, FortiNet WAPs, Cisco routers, Cisco switches, and wireless infrastructure.

- SNMP/WMI alerting and monitoring

- RMM Tools

- Misc software/systems: backup solutions, imaging software, firewalls, virus protection software, anti-spam software, etc.
- Video conferencing standards and systems.
Education and Experience
- AS degree or similar degree with major course work in information technology, network administration, telephony, or related areas. Experience can be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
- CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA certification. Expired certification can be substituted with recent experience of 2+ years.
- 5 years technical experience in network administration
