Cook Inlet Housing Authority (CIHA) is hiring Abatement Technicians to help remediate methamphetamine-contaminated units and restore them to safe, welcoming homes for our residents. This role is a unique blend of specialized cleaning, containment, and minor remodeling work. You’ll be part of a team that’s committed to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and property care across our housing portfolio.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Perform meth contamination abatement using approved methods and equipment
- Carry out containment strategies to prevent cross-contamination
- Complete post-abatement repairs like drywall, painting, flooring, and finish work
- Conduct inspections and document remediation efforts
- Collaborate with maintenance teams and contractors to restore units
- Maintain inventory and report equipment needs
- Support general maintenance and preventative inspections
What We’re Looking For:
- Knowledge of hazardous material handling and remediation standards
- Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and PPE
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable lifting up to 70 lbs., working in PPE, and navigating confined spaces
- Valid Alaska Driver’s License and reliable transportation
Levels & Experience:
- Technician I: 3+ years in building maintenance + HAZWOPER 40-hour certification
- Technician II: 3+ years in hazardous abatement + advanced certifications
- Technician III: 5+ years in hazardous abatement + extensive restoration experience
