This is a part-time position. The initial training schedule will be during weekdays. Schedule will transition to Wednesday-Sunday following training period. Cover Letter and Resume is highly encouraged.

Cook Inlet Housing Authority (CIHA) is looking for a Community Events Assistant to help support operations at The Nave, a vibrant community, cultural, and arts hub located in the heart of Spenard.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Serve as a point of contact for event renters
- Support logistics for event planning, including scheduling, orientations, and rental documentation
- Provide on-site assistance during evening and weekend events, including trouble shooting A/V functionality and building operating systems.
- Conduct post-event walk-throughs, assess and record the condition of the space, take action as needed for any immediate post-event needs, and collect user feedback
- Assist with marketing efforts, including social media management, website updates, and promotional content
- Provide tracking assistance/data entry for bookings, contracts, and communications related to events
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 2 years of experience in customer service, administrative, or public-facing role
- Someone with availability to cover venue events on weekends and evenings, including being on-call during Friday and Saturday evenings when not physically on site.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work across diverse populations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with Instagram, Facebook (Meta), Canva or Adobe Creative Suite, and Squarespace is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and provide on-site event support
- Ability to pass a background and credit check
The Basics:
- Associate degree in business administration, property management, or related field preferred
- Experience in venue or event management preferred
- Proven record of working self-directed and independently
- Familiarity with A/V systems and event technology (e.g. live streaming) is a plus
