What You’ll Do
As a Countertop Carpenter, you’ll perform journeyman-level construction work with a focus on solid surface countertop fabrication and installation. You’ll also contribute to broader carpentry, remodeling, and maintenance projects across CIHA’s housing portfolio.
- Fabricate and install solid surface acrylic countertops
- Install cabinets, doors, and flooring
- Read blueprints and building plans
- Cut, shape, and assemble materials to spec
- Perform interior/exterior remodeling (drywall, painting, etc.)
- Estimate labor, materials, and costs
- Prepare material lists per procurement guidelines
- Maintain records (timesheets, bids, vendor logs)
- Transport materials and equipment
- Ensure safety and cleanliness on job sites
- Perform other related tasks as needed.

- Countertop Specialist: You have deep knowledge of acrylic solid surface fabrication and installation
- Construction Pro: You’re skilled in carpentry, painting, and general building practices
- Safety-Minded: You understand occupational hazards and follow safety protocols
- Detail-Oriented: You make accurate estimates and keep precise records
- Tool Expert: You know how to use and care for construction tools and equipment
- Customer-Focused: You work well with residents and other vendors/tradespeople and bring a service-oriented mindset to work everyday
The Basics
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Experience:
– ISFA Level I Certification preferred
– Minimum 4 years of countertop manufacturing and installation experience
– 4 years of apprenticeship training or equivalent work experience
– 3 years of journeyman-level construction experience
- License: Valid Alaska driver’s license required
